We are the IE university Model United Nations team, a branch of the IE Debate Club, and have the ambition of representing the countries of Gambia and Djibouti for the 2013 New York National Model UN conference.

In a nutshell, one may describe NMUN as being an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. The students prepare all year for the conference, throughout which students (or Delegates, as they are called in MUN, as they are assuming the role of an ambassador to the Untied Nations) debate and constructively work together, each Delegate representing his assigned country, to write up resolutions that would address and attempt to resolve the issues at hand.

The world’s most prestigious universities attend the National Model United Nations conference because of its reputation and it’s role in creating more world-aware, capable and hands-on individuals. Indeed not only does NMUN involve young people in the study and discussion of global issues, but it also encouragesthe development of useful skills such as research, writing, public speaking, problem solving, consensus building, conflict resolution, compromise and cooperation. Furthermore Model U.N. students tend to go on to become great leaders in Politics, law, business, education and even medicine.

I, as ambassador of the IE MUN team, hoped that this project might be of your interest as an opportunity to promote your products and company through asponsorship arrangement. We will offer a variety of sponsorship packages that you could chose from and that negotiable, depending on what would best suit your budget. You will find the three packages as an annex to this letter.
